Our client, Africa’s leading independent Oil and Gas Exploration and Production Company with a diverse portfolio of assets across Africa as well as interests in Europe, South Asia and South America is seeking to fill it’s Drilling Operations Engineer position with a competent Ghanaian.

Job Location


Reporting to the Senior Drilling Operations Engineer, the jobholder will provide and be responsible for drilling engineering planning support to the offshore operation from Accra. This role will work with the DEO, DES and Drilling Superintendents to ensure well integrity and a high level of operational efficiency is maintained.
• Responsible for drilling engineering planning support in Ghana
• Contribute to delivering operational EHS performance
• Ensure that all drilling activities comply with company standards and governmental regulations.
• Provide well engineering delivery objectives as necessary
• Provide input into the specification of drilling equipment and services in accordance with company procedures
• Ensure that timely purchase requisitions are in place and equipment delivery times match the drilling schedule
• Ensure that all work within the area of responsibility is adequately documented and lessons learned are captured
• Ensure well material and service providers comply with specified quality assurance requirements.
• Build effective relationships and interact professionally with internal/external stakeholders and service companies.
• Develop and maintain well cost estimates and control records
• A University Degree in an engineering discipline or equivalent
• Must have a valid survival certification
• International Well Control Forum (IWCF) Well Control Certificate required
• Minimum of 10 years extensive subsea drilling experience
• Experience in water depths greater than 800 metres is preferred.
• Work experience in remote locations and knowledge of work environments in West Africa.
• High proficiency in the use of MS Suite and Landmark software
