Job Purpose

• The Corporate Communication Manager will relate with employees and external stakeholders to keep them informed of developments within the bank.
• The manager will create strategies to increase employee awareness. Externally, communicate with the media and other interested parties to promote new products and educate the public on organisational changes in a way that attempts to maintain a positive image of the Bank.
Key Job Responsibilities
• Develop and implement strategies for the effective management of the corporate communications unit
• Provide technical/operational advice and leadership in communication
• Manage the promotion of products to the rural and community Banks and their customers
• Manage the promotion of good public and media relations
• Consistently research, monitor and implement strategies to ensure growth in market share of the bank’s products and services
• Organize advocacy campaigns
• Arrange external travels
• Organize corporate collateral
• Manage events and publications
Qualification Required & Experience

• Applicants must possess a degree in Communication Studies with Journalism or Public Relations option or any related discipline from a recognize university with a minimum of 10 years post qualification experience in public relations or journalism
• Must be a member of a relevant professional body
• A second degree in communications studies or related discipline will be an advantage
Knowledge and Skills Required
• Ability to work with very minimum supervision
• Self-motivated with good interpersonal and communication skills
• Excellent writing and presentation skills
• Proactive and results-oriented
• Demonstrate ability to research into market trend in products and services
• Proficient in the use of MS Office applications and the internet
