  • University College of Agriculture and Environmental Studies, UCAES Admission forms for 2019/2020 academic session has been released. 

 
Applications are invited from qualified and interested candidates for the University College of Agriculture and Environmental Studies (UCAES) admission form for the 2019/2020 academic session. Interested undergraduate and mature candidates should see entry requirements below.

UCAES ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS FOR UNDERGRADUATE DEGREE PROGRAMMES

The undergraduate programmes consist of 4-year degree programmes offered by the
University College. The programmes are;
1. B.Sc Environmental Science and Management
2. B.Sc Sustainable Agriculture

Admission Requirements
B.Sc. ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCE AND MANAGEMENT
Direct Entry Requirement (SSSCE/WASSCE/GCE “O” Level & “A” Level Candidates)
Candidates must have CREDITS in THREE [3] SSSCE/WASSCE Core subjects: English Language, Mathematics and Integrated Science in addition to CREDITS in any THREE [3] relevant elective subjects in the following options;

  • General Science Option: Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Chemistry, Elective Mathematics
  • Agricultural Science Option: General Agriculture, Physics, Chemistry, Elective Mathematics, Animal Husbandry, Crop Husbandry, Horticulture, Economics and Extension
  • General Arts Option: Economics, Geography, Government, Elective Mathematics, General Knowledge in Arts
  • Home Economics Option: Biology or Chemistry, General Knowledge in Art, Management in Living, Food and Nutrition, Economics
  • Business Option: Business Management, Business Mathematics and Costing, Accounting, Economics, Elective Mathematics
  • Candidates must have FIVE credits at GCE O level or equivalent including English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Agricultural Science, General Science, Geography, Economics, and Government. In addition, passes in THREE [3] GCE Advanced Level subjects: Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Biology, Agricultural Science, Government, Economics and Geography.

 
BSc. SUSTAINABLE AGRICULTURE
Direct Entry Requirement (SSSCE/WASSCE/GCE “O” Level & “A” Level Candidates)
Candidates must have CREDITS in THREE [3] SSSCE/WASSCE Core subjects: English Language, Mathematics and Integrated Science in addition to CREDITS in any THREE [3] relevant elective subjects in the following options in addition, CREDITS in THREE [3] SSSCE/WASSCE elective subjects in any   THREE (3) of the following options;

  • General Science Option: Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Elective Mathematics and Geography.
  • Agricultural Science OptionGeneral Agriculture, Physics, Chemistry, Elective Mathematics, Animal Husbandry, Crop Husbandry, Horticulture, Economics and Extension.
  • General Arts Option: Economics, Geography, Government, Elective Mathematics.
  • Home Economics Option: Biology and/or Chemistry, Management in Living, Food and Nutrition, Economics.
  • Candidates must have FIVE credits at GCE O level or equivalent including English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Agricultural Science, General Science, Geography, Economics, Government. In addition, passes in THREE [3] GCE Advanced Level subjects: Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Biology, Agricultural Science, Government, Economics and Geography.

Note:

  1. Access classes in General Mathematics, English Language, Aptitude test, and General Science are currently ongoing for 2018/2019 Academic year.
  2. Entrance examinations into the relevant programmes are ongoing for 2018/2019 Academic year.

UCAES ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS FOR CERTIFICATE PROGRAMMES 

Cert. ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH & WASTE MANAGEMENT
Direct Entry Requirement (JHS, SSSCE/WASSCE/GCE “O” Level & “A” Level Candidates, other post secondary certificates)
Candidates must have PASSES instead of CREDITS in THREE [3] JHS or SSSCE/WASSCE Core subjects: English Language, Mathematics and Integrated Science in addition to PASSES in any THREE [3] relevant elective subjects in the options under 1.1 – 1.5 under the BSc. Environmental Science & Management Programme above.
Duration: One Year consisting of two (2) semesters.

UCAES ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS FOR MATURE PROGRAMMES

MATURE CANDIDATES FOR:

  1. ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCE & MANAGENMENT &
  2. BSc SUSTAINABLE AGRICULTURE PROGRAMMES

Mature candidates with secondary school background but without certificates or higher qualifications must have attained the age 25 years and show proof of age with valid birth certificate at the time of submitting the application. In addition, they must also possess at least 2-yearsrelevant working experience. Candidates will be required to undertake a 6-week Mature Entrance Access course followed by examinations in the following subjects;

  • General Mathematics
  • English Language
  • Aptitude Test
  • General Science

Holders of certificates, diploma, and higher national diplomas (HND)

  • Certificate Holders in the relevant programmes

Candidates with certificates in the relevant areas will be admitted into Level 200 after they pass an entrance examination in General Mathematics, English Language, Aptitude test, and General Science

  • Diploma and HND Holders in the relevant Programmes

Candidates with diplomas in the relevant areas will be admitted into Level 300 after they pass an entrance examination in General Mathematics, English Language, Aptitude test, and General Science.
