Issues Concerning Teacher Licensure Examination is to be Clarify – Trainees to NTC.

Teacher Trainees are calling on the National Teaching Council to come out crearly on terms and Conditions in relation to the Teacher Licensing and it’s embodiments.
According to the Teacher Trainees during their 23rd Annual General Assembly, held at the Gbewaa College of Education in the Upper East Region, the membership of the Association does not dispute the fact that teachers must be licensed.
They are optimistic that it would help to professionalize teaching in Ghana hence spell out standards which must be met by all Ghanaian teachers in the pre -tertiary institutions.
However, the trainees appeal to the Government through the National Teaching Council (NTC) to come out clearly on the terms and conditions regarding the Teacher Licensing such as;
i. who bears the cost of the licensing and its renewal?
ii. time frame for renewal of the license.
We also appeal to the Government through the Ghana Education Service (GES) to clearly state the;
i. research allowance during the induction period.
ii. terms and conditions about the job security of the teacher being licensed .
